for outdoor use with heavy metal backs for stability (not to
be confused with lightweight products for indoor/sheltered

The 32mm frame simply snaps open on all four sides. Place
your posters beneath the clear anti-glare protective sheet
and snap the frame closed again.
These double sided A-boards (all our products are double
sided) have lock out stays and fold flat for easy storage.
These are quality A-boards with thicker metal backs than
usual and are probably the best on the market.
Smart chrome corners add to the classy appearance. Although
these type of A-boards have a protective plastic cover sheet
and are considered weatherproof they are not always
completely waterproof. Drainage holes at the bottom help but
condensation can occur so if you are having posters printed
you may like to consider having them laminated too. The most

Decker A2 A-Board New and exclusive to us, this
high impact tall A-board will really catch your customers
attention.
It is suitable for narrower pavements as the popular A1
takes up more width.
This folding silver aluminium A-board displays four A2 size
posters (59 x 42cm), two either side, and has easy-change
front opening 32mm snap frames which display your posters
behind protective anti-glare sheets. The lock-out stays
provide a sturdy display with a footprint of 90cm.
Use them indoor or outdoor. The bottom heavier steel panel
provides for a lower centre of gravity to add to the
stability although, as with other A-boards, it is best to
avoid their use in very windy conditions - see our Windproof
pavement signs below as an alternative. Water drainage holes

flex in the wind rather than resist it. With non slip feet
and a base which can be filled with water or sand maximum
stability is achieved. Two strong wheels are mounted on the
single axle so the sign can easily be positioned. The base
is shipped with rock salt inside to prevent the water from
freezing.
The easy-change front opening snap frames have special
rounded corners for safety. They hold an oversized
anti-glare PVC clear protective sheet which sits over a
special rubber seal to keep your posters dry.

If you have mislaid the plastic
protective anti-glare cover sheet or want to tidy up your
snap frames we have spare PVC cover sheets.
The replacements and their sizes are listed in the below
table. It may be worth getting more than one so you always
have a back up!
The material is called PET and for smaller sizes varies in
thickness from 0.3mm for A4 and A3 sizes, 0.4mm for A2, 20"
x 30" and A1 sizes and 0.5mm for A0, 30" x 40" and 60" x 40"
sizes.

Our poster signs enable
customers to change messages by using their own posters.
Protective plastic cover sheets are supplied and although
most posters are printed using waterproof printing inks,
laminating your posters will give total waterproofing.
A-Boards
The folding A-board, A-frame or sandwich board is
universally used as an effective form of advertising. Also
used for information or directional purposes.
As the name applies the folding frame is hinged at the top
and side stays stop the frame from collapsing. Some are
heavier than others. When the wind blows you will often see
that they have been taken in or folded flat against the wall
as they can be blown over. Those with heavier metal backs
are more sturdy and those with rounded corners are safer.
Sizes are A2, 20” x 30” and A1. Larger sizes are not
recommended for pavement use as their size weight ratio
makes them less stable in windy conditions.
Pavement Signs
Although another name for A-boards, pavement signs have,
over the last few years, appeared as a more sturdy
alternative to A-boards. The poster size is usually A1 –
(for larger sizes see below). The double sided panels are
often supplied on a plastic base for water or sand filling
by the customer. Some are supplied with springs for added
stability. They have two wheels at the side of the base so
the unit can easily be tilted and pulled or pushed around
for placement. Rounded corners are usually incorporated for
safety.
Note that in exceptional windy conditions even these can be
blown over.
Forecourt Signs
These are generally larger than the other signs and are used
for situations that require a bigger poster presence.
The smaller A1 size can be used on the pavement. The larger
sizes (40” x 30”, A0 and 60” x 40”) are more suited for use
on very wide pavements or forecourt areas. Most have a
plastic base for water or sand filling and springs for added
stability although even these can be blown over on
occasions.
Legality
Every local authority has its own view on these products. By
and large, if the sign is of a reasonable size and is placed
sensibly then problems with authorities are not usually
encountered.
